Many many congratulations on an honor well deserved. However, when will this be out on DVD in the States? I prolly won't get to see it before oscar night at this rate :(.
Congrats Tomm, it's a well deserved nod in my humble opinion. I've been raving about it all day, and Twitter is buzzing with "What the hell is The Secret of Kells?!". I hope this brings a boost not only to the film, but to you and everyone involved.
Congratulations to you guys! That´s really great news!
Couldn´t watch "Kells" yet (as it wasn´t released here in Brazil at this time), but I´m really looking forward to it. I´m also a regular here on the blog, and everything I see and learn about your film is very inspiring - even more so because I´m an independent animation producer and director myself, and it´s excelent to see someone outside the studio sistem "up there".
Congratulations Tomm and crew! I live in the US and was anxiously awaiting the Oscar nominations this morning, particularly the animation category. I have loved animation all my life, and knew this year was a banner year for animated cinema... probably the best of my life... Up, Coraline, The Princess and the Frog, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Ponyo, even Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
You may already know this, but normally there are only three nominated films in the Animated Feature category. The fact that they expanded to five nominations this year is an indication of just how spectacular 2009 was for animation. There were many VERY WORTHY films up for consideration. The fact that your film earned one of those five slots should make you all INCREDIBLY PROUD.
You made it. The great Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo. which was loved around the world, did not.
I cannot wait to see your film. As soon as I heard its name read as a nominee, I went online to research it. I saw the trailer and it looks amazing! Do you have information on it coming to Michigan, where I live? Or a DVD release? Amazon.com does not even have a listing for it!
Congrats!!! I'm really proud of being a lil'part of the crew in Brazil cleaning up such wonderful characters. Amazing movie, very well deserved nomination! I hope it will be released in Brazil now, after being nominated.
This is awesome! I have named the film my favorite of 2009 and can now tell all my fellow reviewers who have simply ignored the film: "Told you so!" :)
Congrats! A well-deserved nomination for such an amazingly beautiful masterpiece! As a long-time student of the celtic arts, I must say this work has brought happy tears to my eyes and heart.
On behalf of the entire Walking The Dog team we would like to congratulate our co-production team of CartoonSaloon, especially Tomm, Nora, Ross and Paul, who worked for years to 'turn darkness into light'... Let's party now!
HURRAAAAYYY!!!! Congratulations! This is so awesome, and well-deserved. Dedication always pays off in the end. ;) Great to see that Brendan had at least one more big adventure awaiting him! And now more people will get to love him I guess. Anyway, it's FANTASTIC! (yes, the rest of the Belgian crew has got pretty hysterical over the news too! ;p)
OMG congratulations!!!
