I agree with Dr. Andreadis' take on Avatar. I didn't like the mindset that the hero represented, either. I complained about this in Roger Ebert's blog, and was sure I (unintentionally) rankled some of the readers there. That said, I thought Dr. Andreadis was very fair in her critique of said mindset, and also of the overall value of the movie.

I agree with your observations on Avatar.
To me it was a below mediocre movie , expensively packaged with extremely superficial and linear perspective.
