Distribution in the U.S.

So, I can finally announce we have secured distribution in America.
Its a limited release in early 2010 but at least it will be in cinemas over there.

I will post more info as I can, but basically I want tos ee if we can build some kind of support amongst animation fans. A good opening in the limited release would encourage a broader distribution in theatres. Later we will of course have the DVD s over there but our hope is that people will seek it out in cinemas first!

So, if you are in America , and want to see indy 2d animation with non-mainstream subject matter get a chance, please come along and help us get as many "bums on seats" as we can!

  15. Will the Secret of Kells create a European animated feature distribution surge in the US if successful? Pokemon and Dragonball Z were sucessfull in the US and they created a surge for anime made for both TV and film

  16. I will do whatever I can to help spread the word.

Are you going to have it at the Ottawa International Animation Festival in October '09 ?

Who's doing the limited release in the U.S. ? Is it Sony Classics or some such outfit ?

I'll ask my local "art movie house" the Enzian Theater (home of the Florida Film Festival) to book it . When in 2010 ? Who's the contact ?

  23. Sweet! I've been hoping for news like this. I just hope it'll play in a theater relatively nearby so I can go see it. (If not, I suppose I'll just have to buy either a DVD release if it happens for America or buy an import DVD. *laugh*)
